Customizable Workshop Options:
Flexible Scheduling: This half-day visit is designed to be flexible and customizable. School administrators can select one, two, or all three of the following workshops to best suit the needs and interests of their students. Each workshop is 45 minutes long, with a 30-minute book signing session included in every package.
Workshop Options:
Workshop 1: Brave Every Hill (TK-1st Grade)
Activity: In "Brave Every Hill," Claudette will read aloud from her book Gazill Hill and lead a brief, fun hands-on activity related to the story’s themes.
Objective: To spark imagination and foster a love for storytelling while encouraging young students to try new things and step outside their comfort zones.
Workshop 2: Face Your Fears (2nd-3rd Grade)
Activity: In "Face Your Fears," Claudette will read Gazill Hill and engage students with a hands-on learning activity that ties into the story. This session will also include a discussion about why she loves writing and what it’s like to be an author, followed by a Q&A.
Objective: To inspire creativity and critical thinking, while emphasizing the importance of pushing through resistance, facing fears, and trying new experiences.
Workshop 3: Enjoy the Ride (4th- 5th Grade or Middle School)
Activity: In "Enjoy the Ride," Claudette will read excerpts from Gazill Hill and then lead a workshop where students will brainstorm a book idea, identify their audience, and develop creative marketing strategies, learning how a book proposal is similar to a business plan.
Objective: To introduce basic concepts of business planning, marketing, and entrepreneurship, while encouraging students to embrace challenges, face resistance, and enjoy the process of exploring new possibilities.

Workshop 4: Write Your Own Story (4th & 5th Grade or Middle School)
Activity: In "Write Your Own Story," Claudette will guide middle school students through a storytelling and character development workshop. Students will explore key storytelling elements like character growth and emotional arcs. Using a 6-panel storyboard, they will reflect on their own challenges and create a personal story where they are the main character overcoming obstacles and self-doubt.
Objective: To foster self-reflection and creativity through storytelling, helping students connect their real-life experiences with narrative techniques. This workshop emphasizes personal growth, perseverance, and character development, inspiring students to face their fears and embrace new challenges.
Book Signing (30 minutes)
Included in Every Package: After the workshops, students who pre-ordered a paperback copy of Gazill Hill will have the opportunity to meet Claudette personally, receive their signed copies, and ask any final questions.
